Community
In addition to my work-related activities, I invest much of my time in community projects and volunteering. Two initiatives in particular take center-stage in my life: the animal rescue for which I volunteer and the Ukrainian Education and Support Trust. I am on the Executive Committee for the animal rescue, where we put time, energy, and other resources into caring for animals who have been abandoned or neglected. Additionally, I am on the Board for the Ukrainian Education and Support Trust, where we work to provide support to Ukrainians moving to New Zealand and to provide public education to New Zealanders about Ukraine.
Travel
You learn to see the world more completely with the more places you go and people you meet. I have traveled from Eastern Canada to Western Mexico and from Northern Europe to Japan, with many places in between. Even so, I haven't even crossed a fraction of the locations I want to visit off of my list yet! Each destination has had amazing lessons to teach and adventures to be had! For those wondering, my favorite destinations to date have been Wellington (New Zealand), Lviv (Ukraine), Stockholm (Sweden), Tokyo (Japan), Prague (Czech Republic), and Ljubljana (Slovenia), though many others hold a close second.

Languages
I have dabbled in many languages and have studied the following languages to varying degrees and in diverse settings: Ukrainian, Spanish, te reo Māori, Russian, New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL), Italian, French, German, Samoan, and Swedish. Hopefully the list will continue to grow as will my proficiency in each currently on it!
